Overview Of RBBA Board Elected & Appointed Member Positions

  • The Board of Directors are elected annually, with staggered two-year positions.
  • All elected and appointed board members, coaches, and parent/guardian of any active player will be eligible to vote.
  • Candidates for all positions must be nominated at the August General Board meeting.                 
  • Elected Board Members positions are 2-year terms with staggered elections, half each year.
  • All other positions are voted on annually.
  • All board members require a completed a background check

BOARD OF DIRECTORS

 
President -
Oversee all League business. Conducts general meetings and approves all League purchases. Coordinates League with cooperating organizations (Village of Spring Grove and Richmond and School Districts.) Vote only to break a tie.

Vice President– Preside over League board meeting and league business in the absence of the President. Responsible for collecting complete background check and code of conduct forms.

Secretary– Notify all members of meetings. Keep and maintain monthly board meeting minutes.  Keep notes, maintain official rules/bylaws. Write necessary correspondence. If any email votes take place in between monthly board meetings, those results will be added to the previous month’s minutes as amendments.

Treasurer– Responsible for oversight of League finances, including development of annual budget, issuance of checks and maintain league accounts, application for league insurance, payment of league debts and prepare and distribute monthly report. Any check written over $5,000 shall require a double signature by two of the following Board Members: President, Vice-President, or Treasurer.

Player Agent–Maintain player database, oversight and coordination of player registration, sign up and assignment of late registrations in conjunction with level directors, and prepare monthly report. Responsible for overall coordination of Fall Ball.

Director of Baseball- Maintain and oversee all In-House baseball and drafts. Responsible for coordinating Fall Ball for baseball. Maintain field schedule for all baseball teams. Responsible for representation at and communication of information related to league participation either personally or through a designated representative. 
 

Director of Softball- Maintain and oversee all In-House softball and drafts. Responsible for coordinating Fall Ball for softball. Maintain field schedule for all softball teams. Responsible for representation at and communication of information related to league participation either personally or through a designated representative.

Director of Travel Baseball- Maintain and oversee all travel baseball teams and tryouts.

Director of Travel Softball- Maintain and oversee all travel softball teams and tryouts.

BASEBALL

Tee Ball Coordinator– Organize managers, conduct player drafts and schedule practices and games. Primary contact for information and board liaison for Tee Ball managers. Reports to Director of Baseball.

Instructional Coordinator- Organize managers, conduct player drafts and schedule practices and games. Determine playoff schedule. Coordinate concession schedule for Instructional games. Primary contact for information and board liaison for Instructional managers. Reports to Director of Baseball.

Minor Coordinator- Organize managers, conduct player drafts and schedule practices and games. Determine playoff schedule.  Coordinate All-Star selection. Coordinate concession’s schedule for minor games. Primary contact for information and board liaison for Minor managers. Reports to Director of Baseball.

Major Coordinator- Organize managers, conduct player drafts and schedule practices and games. Coordinate concession’s schedule for Major games. Coordinate All-Star selection. Primary contact for information and board liaison for Major managers. Reports to Director of Baseball.

Pony Coordinator- Organize managers, conduct player drafts and schedule practices and games. Coordinate concession’s schedule for Pony games. Coordinate All-Star selection. Primary contact for information and board liaison for Pony managers. Reports to Director of Baseball.

Colt/Legion Coordinator- Organize managers, conduct player drafts and schedule practices and games. Coordinate concession’s schedule for Colt/Legion games. Coordinate All-Star selection. Primary contact for information and board liaison for Colt/Legion managers. Reports to Director of Baseball.

SOFTBALL

8 & Under Coordinator - Organize managers, conduct player drafts, and coordinate concession schedule for 8 & Under games. Coordinate All-Star selection. Primary contact for information and board liaison for 8 & Under managers. Reports directly to Director of Softball.

10 & Under Coordinator - Organize managers, conduct player drafts, and coordinate concession schedule for 10 & Under games. Coordinate All-Star selection. Primary contact for information and board liaison for 10 & Under managers. Reports directly to Director of Softball.

12 & Under Coordinator - Organize managers, conduct player drafts, and coordinate concession’s schedule for 12 & Under games. Coordinate All-Star selection. Primary contact for information and board liaison for 12 & Under managers. Reports directly to Director of Softball.

15 & Under Coordinator - Organize managers, conduct player drafts, and coordinate concession’s schedule for 15 & Under games. Coordinate All-Star selection. Primary contact for information and board liaison for 15 & Under managers. Reports directly to Director of Softball

18 & Under Coordinator - Organize managers, conduct player drafts, and coordinate concession’s schedule for 18 & Under games. Coordinate All-Star selection. Primary contact for information and board liaison for 18 & Under managers. Reports directly to Director of Softball.
 
 
ANNUALLY APPOINTED MEMBERS

FundraiserCoordinator– Responsible for overseeing and developing league-wide fundraising activities, including review and recommendation of opportunities, set up  prize programs, storage and distribution of items, collection of money, record keeping, order and distribution of prizes. Reports to Board of Directors.

Picture Day Coordinator–Selects photographer and schedules picture date(s) for league. Reports to Board of Directors.

Umpire Coordinator(s) – Make the schedule of games for the year. Schedule umpires for the games. Conduct umpires instructional clinic. Reports to Board of Directors.

SponsorCoordinatorResponsible for solicitation of league sponsors from previous years and new potential sponsors as well as the development of sponsor recognition. Collects sponsor fees and assigns sponsors to appropriate teams. Reports to Board of Directors.

Uniform Coordinator–Responsible for selection of uniform company in conjunction with Board approval, ordering and distribution of uniforms to level coordinators. Reports to Board of Directors. 

Equipment Manager – Oversee and evaluate condition of all League equipment. Order new and replacement equipment as needed with Board approval. Pre-season distribution of equipment to managers. Replace equipment as necessary during the season. Post-season collection of equipment. Post-season storage of equipment. Reports to Board of Directors.

Webmaster- Develop and maintain content for the league (rsgbaseballandsoftball.org) website. Provide timely updates to schedules, calendar information, and other content as appropriate. Reports to Board of Directors. 

Safety Coordinator(s)Responsible for pre-season safety instruction of managers and coaches.  Coordinate the purchase and distribution of first aid kits. Reports to Board of Directors.

Concessions Coordinator(s)Purchases and distributes products to appropriate concessions stands for baseball and softball.  Manages concessions stand schedulers as appropriate per field. Reports to Board of Directors. 

Field Maintenance Coordinator(s)Purchases chalk, turface and marking paint as needed for routine field maintenance to maintain game conditions. Organizes and supervises spring field day(s). Oversees maintenance of equipment to ensure it is in working condition. Reports to Board of Directors.

Additional Coordinator(s)At the Board’s discretion and as needed, coordinators positions may be added. The positions will be appointed positions.
